ABOUT ME
After developing post-viral fatigue I was no longer able to exercise in a strenuous way and Qigong offered a wonderful alternative. It helped me to release tension, slow down and feel peaceful and energised all at the same time. Although the practice appears gentle, it will improve your strength, flexibility and fitness with less force and intensity than other forms of exercise and can also clear your mind and lift your mood. I believe it is a practice that can enhance everyone’s life and for each individual it will bring different benefits.
I am certified as a Qigong teacher through The Shiatsu College and the teachings of Sifu Wing Cheung (Tai Chi, Qigong & Fengshui Institute). I also follow the teachings of Kenneth S. Cohen (The Way of Qigong), world-renowned qigong and tai chi master.
I have taught Qigong to patients, carers and friends of Dorothy House Hospice and currently teach classes online and in the Bath area to a wide range of people including seated classes for people with limited mobility and outdoor classes for the more active.
I have a Diploma in Theory & Practice of Shiatsu from the Bristol School of Shiatsu (one of the longest established and most innovative schools in the UK) and am a member of The Shiatsu Society. I worked as a Shiatsu practitioner at Neal’s Yard Therapies and now offer sessions at my home and in my garden during warmer months.
When I first received Shiatsu it gave me a sense of 'coming home' both physically and emotionally. I found this form of bodywork encouraged deep relaxation for body and mind, whilst also enabling a greater sense of aliveness and wellbeing. Shiatsu can provide a safe space to let go of thoughts, relax in to your body and allow natural healing to take place.
Prior to training in Qigong and Shiatsu I worked in London and Bath running personal development and life skills programmes for disadvantaged young people and adults, both 1:1 and in groups. I am a qualified life coach and love supporting people to make positive changes and create more fulfilling and meaningful lives.
